ABOUT THE ASSOCIATION OF BLACK CARDIOLOGISTS

The Association of Black Cardiologists, Inc. (ABC) was founded in 1974 out of a need to bring special attention to the adverse impact of cardiovascular disease on African Americans. The ABC is an inclusive organization. Membership is open to all who are interested in assuring that African American children know their grandparents and become great grandparents themselves. This will only be achieved by effectively lowering the high rate of heart disease and stroke in our community through: culturally competent healthcare providers; equal access to medical care and innovative technologies; and effective collaboration with industry, government, other professional organizations and individuals.
